José Javier Pérez Contreras was born in the middle of the Greater Antilles in the Caribbean, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on August 7, 1994.

From an early age he showed his special talent for drawing and painting, being remarkable its sensitive perception.

His work is characterized by the use of impressionistic techniques with expressionist tendencies inroads on issues of pastoral landscapes and tropical marine Antilles.

His chief mentor and teacher is the famous painter Alberto Houellemont who in turn was a student of Yoryi Morel.

José Javier had three drawing courses at Casa de Chavon, a subsidiary established in Santo Domingo Altos de Chavon Cultural Center Foundation.

Mark Lineweaver and Carlos Montesinos were their teachers.

Attending painting classes at schools Eliosnet, Guillo Perez, Genao and Milan Cleila Suero.

The painter Jorge Reina, Art Gallery Bodden, was who introduced him to the world of painting.

Won second and third place in the National Contest XXXIX And XXVIII Painting Christmas Child Nidia Sierra Arts Center under the auspices of the First Lady of the Dominican Republic, Mrs. Margarita Cedeño Fernandez and the Reserve Bank of the Republic, in 2009 and 2008, respectively.

He has participated in two collective exhibitions Guiillo schools Perez and Cleila Genao.

His first solo exhibition will be in the Hall Don Pedro Mir Library Cuesta Avenue corner Av.Abraham February 27 Linlcon, from Thursday, February 5 year 2009.
